Okay, I know it's just utilization, which has no memory month to month, so I'll live. But still. Two months in a row making dumb mistakes. Last month, I let my qs1 report a $120 balance on a $300 cl, meanwhile my dads discover was supposed to be the card that had a balance. It ended up reporting $1200 (11k cl) instead of $58 like I thought. Then later in october, his barclays reported a $20 balance. So, 3 cards had balances, the qs1 was 40%.
This month, the discover reported $420 which is okay. But I messed up when MY barclays reported. It reported this week with a $315 balance on 1k. I thought it was next week. Oh well.
Assuming my dads barclays doesnt report anything later this month or any of my other cards, maybe I will get a few points since I went from 3 balances to 2?

Yes, its just utilization and easy to fix. I am of the school of thought that you can use your cards and pay them off without regard to micro managing the reporting balance unless you plan to make application for new credit. I am not saying to go crazy and charge up the card, I am saying that stressing each and every month over a balance reporting can get you gray hair!
Also, once you are able to get your limits increased it won't be such a critical issue to have $120 report on a $300 (or more) limit.
Having said that, you should know your exact statement due date and reporting dates for each card. I don't use my cards at all once I have paid for the statement date (whatever balance I want it to report) until I know it has passed the reporting date.
If you are not certain, take a look at the Cap One acct statement dates - they are always the same each month. Then look at Credit Karma to see what the reporting date is and that is the week you have to refrain from using the card.

I think I am over obsessed with it now since up until this summer I had no credit since 2006.
I have all statement dates and due dates in my calendar on my phone but for whatever reason I put one card's statement day a week late lol.
Btw, I noticed 2 new gray hairs this year and I'm 27, not good!
