Inquiry Damage

So, I've joined DCU and recently apped for some credit cards (yesterday). My inquiries have gone from 0 inquiries in the last 2 years to :

EQ: 4

EX: 2

TU: 2

I was fully ready for some kind of drop in my FICO scores due to the inquiries, but they all either remained unchanged or I gained points (I assume the inquiry just triggered the notification for the score increase). I guess my question is, if your score is going to get dinged from an inquiry, does it get dinged right away when it reports to Myfico?

You just don't lose much for low inquiry counts or inquiries in general under FICO 8 anyway seemingly.  I've just taken a few myself, after being at low numbers, and my score is moving 1-2 points at most.  If you have any sort of increase in there it will offset or nullify, and they're graded on a step function anyway so small changes in inquiry counts don't damage one's score much if at all.

It does happen right away, and as such you're in the clear from inquiry damage at any rate; presumably some tradelines are associated with them and you may take some drops as a result.
