Tiers? I haven't read anything about tiers smh. I had no idea.
So if my total credit limit amongst all my cards is $2700 and my Chase Freedom Rise has a $500 CL by itself - if I leave an $81 balance on my Chase Card showing on the credit reports, that would a 3% total utilization BUT a 16.5% individual util on my Chase Card.
Will that be a negative with Chase since my utilization is 16.5% with them? Even though my total credit utilization is only 3%? How does this work when I show individual pretty high utilizations on low limit cards trying to build a good history with them? Will doing this hurt my chances of getting a credit limit increase? I am so confused.
I do not agree with those "tiers". The tiers, if any, for aggregate utilization, are not known.
In my experience there have not been any "tiers".
For individual account utilization I recognize 28% and 48% as "tiers". 78% is probably another one, but this is unclear.

Yes, there are utilization thresholds. I see 9% as one for aggregate. Some report seeing a score change going above/ below 5% as well. A couple for individual card utilization are 29% and 49%. I suspect one exists at 89% as well. Experian mentions 90% and above as a card being classified as maxed out.
Revolving utilization levels under 30% are universally quoted as demonstrating responsible credit management. A 16.5% card UT would be viewed favorably by Chase.
