My EX FICO8 is currently 821 (EQ 848 / TU 832).
My EX Vantage is 791.
Meh.
EQ | 850 | 2 INQ (Auto, Mort) | 7y4m |
EX | 850 | 6 INQ (2 CC, 2 mort, 2 auto) | 7y |
TU | 850 | 1 INQ (CC) | 6y8m |
3/24 | 1/12 | AoYA 10m | AoOA 24y2m | ~3% |
@JunejerThat's so weird to me. I lose the 1pt on VS 3.0 from AZ to AZEO and I lose a tad more when I go AZE2 (2/5 in my case), even at below 9% aggregate and at 17% for the highest individual utilization).

@Zoostation1, my EQ VS 3.0 reacts in a rather "normal" manner. TU is completely irrational. I'm going to go AZEO this upcoming cycle. I'm sure I'll dip into the 790s as a result. Absolute lunacy.
@Tikistrong wrote:New here! So, I just got a new personal loan through Lending Club. Not sure if that was the best option but, I came here after instead of before. Lol. I was sure it would be denied because CK was showing a score of 609. But, when I received the credit score disclosure from Lending Club it showed a Transunion score of 711. Everything I read said that CK is typically too high so, I was surprised. I have now spent many many hours reading these forums and I'm looking forward to being more credit savvy in the future.
My CK VantageScore 3.0 scores have always been lower than my Fico 8 and Fico 9 scores and EX Fico mortgage score but higher than my EQ and TU Fico mortgage scores. Any generalization on which scores will be higher is garbage. The results are profile dependent. That being said, a 100 point difference suggests one scoring algorithm is factoring in a major derogatory while the other algorithm is not.
For the past two years my FICO score and CK have been almost always within five points or less. The only time there was ten or so points was when I charged a bit more. Even then I didn't go over 3% of my TCL. CK doesn't like when I'm over 2%.
My CK scores have always been higher than both of my FICO8 scores. Coincidentally, my Equifax CK score and PenFed provided FICO9 score have matched +/- one or two points points for almost a year now.
Current EQ CK - 770
Current EQ FICO9 - 769

I started regularly tracking my credit scores in early 2020; for the two year period between then and when my Chapter 13 fell off my credit reports in 2022, my CK FAKO scores always exceeded my FICO 8 scores by as much as 100 points. In the two years since I moved onto a clean FICO score card, my FICO 8 scores have always exceeded my CK scores by roughly 30 points. Long story short, ignore the CK scores, they are basically irrelevant.
Chapter 13:
I categorically refuse to do AZEO!
I have a little insight on f8 vs v3. My v3 scores have been 50 to 80 lower over the last year. I was credit retired for many years, my oldest open account is 14 months. I also have an 8 year old closed cc. I find that f8 includes the closed account in average age, v3 does not. It also appears v3 gives some small credit for total credit limit. As my account age has increased and cl increased (from $500 to $20000+) my v3 has increased by 50+ points.
My CK score is typically 40-50 points lower than my FICO scores. I used to be worried, but after being on this board for the past few years, I realized that CK is a joke. As everyone above says, when you're going for credit (card, loan, mortgage), the lenders are not going to be using Vantage for scoring purposes, so it's not even worth the worry.
Welcome to the boards!
"FAKO" ... nice
