JTiming of Amex internal account update vs reporting to CRA's

Sometimes I use EX to daily track my F8 score. Over the past couple of weeks as accounts have reported, my UTIL has dropped from 18% down to 10.8%, and my F8 has remained static at 740. I was anticipating tonight, when another account would report, dropping my UTIL to about 8.5%. I was hoping that would nudge my score up a couple of points.

But, this morning I noticed my new Amex BCE has generated its first statement. The new BCE account balance divided by the BCE credit line is about 13%, which when it's included (it does not show on EX yet) will keep my UTIL over 10%, messing with my desired DP of whether/how much my 740 will increase.

Since the Amex BCE now shows a balance due on the Amex site, but has not appeared on EX yet, I'm wondering if I could snap a payment to Amex today (Amex gives me immediate credit), eliminate the balance, and perhaps because Amex might have a slight delay between updating the account internally and sending the update out to the CRA's, I could get my today's new balance reported to EX. If I could, it would push my UTIL down to 7% or so, and I will have my answer.

Or am I too late? Last night, when Amex updated my account, did they also send the info to EX, and EX just hasn't processed it?

Thx

That's how they report a first card. Yes, you are too late.  But you should be on track fir next month.  I find they close and report statement/balances pretty much on schedule.  If you check the area above the statement icon, it tells you how many days you have left.

I made a payment anyway. Prob a futile gesture, but giving it a shot.

OK that makes sense. Essentially it would be a mid-cycle report then. I haven't heard of Amex doing that, even by request

Re: JTiming of Amex internal account update vs reporting to CRA's

I like Credit Karma for telling me when cards report, it's very useful for that. I often get hosed by pending charges near my statement date, but it reminds me to pay my cards before statement cuts and I can stay ahead when I want to. Once you get an alert I would imagine it's already too late for all 3 bureaus to make a payment.

AMEX hasn't hit me with a mid cycle, bummer that happened. I don't think you can do much about it, so attack it next month.

Re: JTiming of Amex internal account update vs reporting to CRA's

A couple of months ago, Amex did a mid cycle report to CB's when I called them and asked.  I'd paid a balance to zero, and they did it with no questions asked.
