Length of credit history calculation

When determining your length of credit history, does this calculation include only open accounts? Or does it include both open and closed accounts? Cna someone give me more clarity on how this is calculated?

Re: Length of credit history calculation

Open and closed.  Length of credit history would be the time between the open date of your oldest reporting account and today.

It includes closed accounts that continue to appear in your credit reports. Once they no longer appear in the credit reports, they are not included.

Generally a closed account with no negative info will remain on your reports for ten years
