Lost/Stolen Cards

Maybe one of the score mavens can help me out here. Do lost/stolen cards count against you as far as seeking new credit and in the computation of average age of accounts? I'm thinking they do.

Yep. Smiley Sad

Learned the hard way when my shiny new Visa was lost after receiving it 3 months prior.

Re: Lost/Stolen Cards

That is a serious flaw in the scoring system don't ya think? Easily remedied too. How many of you received the Penfed email concerning the recent breach in the Heartland system are going to close their card and have another account added to their credit reports? I know I am not going to do it.

Re: Lost/Stolen Cards

I received something from bank of America saying that my card was "jeopardized" or something like that..Even though I never lost it And was in my possession the whole time.  I am guessing it was something at the company level - not sure but when I pulled my report, they had closed my account, opened a new one and said the other one had a "lost or stolen card." is this worth doing something about or just let it be? And also what can I even do about it?

on the positive side..The new replacement account dated back to 2002 when I had opened the original account.
