@Anonymous very strange, like I said this is the only time I've ever heard of a collection being paid causing an increase where it was not deleted from the credit report. congratulations you're a lucky person. What version did you get the points on?
Can you tell us more about what scorecard you were on? your profile specifics? Oldest account, youngest account, number of accounts, other derogatories, etc...?
The payoffs made scores go up on all sub-scores (2, 8, bank, card etc). Its been about a year since, and through all this time scores went about up over 100 points all together. A friend put me on as authorized user on 25k USbank account, only 1% utilized, and it also helped, but not such big numbers.

@Anonymous authorized user accounts we'd expect to give points potentially. Nothing else that could potentially have occurred to contribute to it?
