I want to open another card. I will look into the Secured Discovery card and another. My score a year ago was 485 I am currently at like 583. Was 600 but will get back there.
Thank you.
As you now know, let the card report a balance.
Unfortunately many responses are not understanding your current situation.
You have one card. Use it regularly. Even though it is probably from Credit One or First Premier, it is helping you to re-establish credit. There will be a few fees for a while, but with time your scores will improve to make better, lower fee cards available. Do not rush to apply for more cards.
Just be sure to not go over limit ( I am certain that will incur a painful over-limit fee ) and pay the statement balance by the payment due date to avoid triggering the high interest rate. Use the card each month for regular spend items you are able to pay with cash.
Good luck!
Yep its from Credit One. I am keeping a low balance but using it each month and paying each month.
Thank you. I am not going to apply for anything for a while.
