My Fico alert

Trying to increase my score but I just received an alert for my Belk card $189 to $32 limit $850 score went from 638 to 635 with Experian? Why is that? I recently paid the balance down to $0 am I going to lose points for doing that too?

Re: My Fico alert

yeah, I've seen that happen quite a lot, don't worry though, when cases like that points will go up when the balance shows.

Re: My Fico alert

This should probably be in Understanding FICO Scoring,

but anyway, What else is changing in the last few weeks in your accounts? This particular change in balance is not the cause of the change in score, it is too low of a change. There's something else changing in your file that did not result in a direct Alert. It could be something aging, an adjustment from previous large changes, any number of possibilities.
