My MyFico Transunion score is 786. However, my Transunion score (direct from Transunion) is 756.
Both reports are currenty. Both reports refect the same exact information.
Why is there such a difference?
And lenders who claim to only pull TU directly, like Mercedes -- when they're claiming that do they mean the look at the MYFico TU score or direct TU score?
Thanks in advance.
I believe that TransUnion is giving you a VantageScore. Lenders who pull from TransUnion will almost certainly be using some flavor of FICO, i.e. one of the scores you get with your myFICO subscription. Lenders might not use the FICO 8 that you most commonly see; it could be an auto score, mortgage score, or whatever.
If you have a myFICO subscription, you have access to those scores. Your FICO 8 will be fairly current. However, the other scores are only updated whenever your reports are updated: either quarterly or monthly, depending on your subscription.
