On EX 2, my experience directly contradicts your view of things.
While my utilization is at an all time high, and my FICO 8 is getting hammered because of it, my EX 2 is 48 points higher than FICO 8 and is only 2 points off its all time high.
Conversely, when my utilization was practically nonexistent, and I was for sporting purposes maintaining it in the 1 to 3% range, my FICO 8 score was soaring and my EX 2 was in the cellar. I couldn't buy a point in that scoring model.
IMHO EX 2 cares a lot about the percentage of accounts with zero balance, cares a lot about new accounts and other aging factors, and doesn't give a fig about high percentages in utilization dollars, at least not by comparison to the FICO 8's and 9's.
Well the below data does show a strong effect between utilization in $ and/or % and EX score 2 for my file.
The only significant difference between these two pulls is card utilization. [Side note: For me, Fico 98 (EX score 2) does not appear to look at my AU card in calculating revolving utilization. However, all Fico 04 models (EQ score 5, TU score 4 and EX score 3) do factor in my AU card for utilization] - per data in post #15 of this linkhttps://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Understanding-FICO-Scoring/How-low-will-my-scores-go/m-p/6184392#M1...

Yeah, your experience is wildly different than mine.
I wonder why.
Aren't you guys in different score cards?
Ha!
Our profiles could hardly be more different other than neither contain derogs. Clearly we are on different scorecards.
The total # of open accounts I have is rather meager. Undoubtedly my account QTY is below the critical mass preferred by the newer Fico 8 and Fico 9 models. So, changes in count showing balances have only a small impact on my score with these models. I do see more impact relating to count with the older "mortgage" Fico models (versions F04 and F98). Still, EX has not been particularly sensitive to count with balances.
Given how old my open accounts are, further increases in AoYA, AAoA and AoOA have no influence. That leaves scoring factors relating to utilization as the primary influencers impacting my scores. Too bad PIF transactor behavior is not considered in scoring.

Hopefully one day that changes.
