My 6 Month target on oldest TL hit this week, so I gave Score Watch a try and received a 716 EQ Fico Score. 20 points higher than the regular credit score from Equifax. Is it best to wait for a full year to apply for quality unsecured cards? I have two secured cards, one at 6 months, the other at 5 months with $300 limits. No negatives and no hard pulls . Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
If by "regular credit score" you mean the FAKO from EQ, then I would not rely on such a score.
If you have a 716 FICO from EQ, you should be good to go with a regular unsecured card.
If your reports differ from each other in a major way, such that your EX/TU scores would likely be different from your EQ one, then I'd be careful in researching which lenders pull which reports.
Another angle here might be to talk to some local CUs, and show them your report, and see if they can start you out with a generous limit on an unsecured CC.
You can now get ScoreWatch or a Score Power on the Equifax site. Either is identical to this site. Just go to Equifax and click on View All Products and ther are both on that page.
The Fako is lower, the EQ Fico score is 716. Good advice on going to the CU. Thanks
