New account question (yeah, another one )

If I understood it correctly, there is no penalty when going from 0 to 3 accounts.

I have two account in my name and one AU account. 

My question is if that AU account "took" that 3rd spot or do only accounts in my name count toward the first three.

I'm not sure what you mean by "penalty" in going from 0 to 3 accounts?

An AU account should "count" toward your profile if it's there.  There are a few exceptions to what it counts toward, however, such as something like utilization where that account may not be factored in.

I read the same thing about no penalty for the first 3 accounts.

I had a 12y old closed revolver and a 6y open student loan both in good standing on my account with no other history, then I added 2 revolvers and my FICOs shot up from the low 700s to 740s-800 when they hit my credit report. The following month, 4 additional new accounts reported and my scores fell back into the 720-740 range. This month, the newest 4 all reported 2 months of age and scores are back between 730- 765.

So I gained significant points when the first 2 accounts reported, then lost when the additional 4 accounts reported the following month, but quickly gained back most of the ground I'd lost after the newest accounts showed >1 month of age.

My AAoA never dipped below 2 yrs with the new accounts and I've consistently done AZEO with util between 4-7%. Definitely saw no penalty for new accounts on the first 2, was the opposite actually. But did on the later additions.

Yes, I gained points with the additon of the 1st 3 cards but I'm not sure if AU count toward 3rd card, I would think so.
