Re: New to Credit. Utilization Question.

Be careful not to confuse the due date with the statement date. Your card should have a date that it reports each month. Any amount that is not paid before the "statement date" will be reported to the credit bureaus. Any minimum amount not paid by the due date will result in a late payment.

Example:

Here you can see my last statement date was 07/03/2018 at that time my balance was $0. My statement date for next month will be 08/03/2018. If I make charges of $50.00 today and pay the minumum of $25.00 next week, the additional $25 will be reported on 8/3/18. Screen Shot 2018-07-18 at 5.11.10 PM.png

Re: New to Credit. Utilization Question.

Grower1, Now that you explained it, that was exactly my confusion. Because on my account summary the Statement Balance says *Pending* and the only balance I see is the Minimum payment balance due un Jul 22. I called my bank and they said that the statement balance will be visible on the summary tomorrow.
Now I can rest tonight!

Thanks Grower1 and everyone else for the help. I appreciate it!

Re: New to Credit. Utilization Question.

Awesome! I do recall my statement dates taking a while to populate when the accounts were new.
