New to board Transunion FICO No Change in 6 months

Help me, I don't know what to do.  My Transunion FICO score is low and it hasn't budged in 6 months. It hasn't moved up or down.  I also monitor my credit score and it has move up to the low 600's urrrghh. I am very frustrated because I don't know what to do. I have been paying off all of my debt and have about 3k to go.  Can somebody tell me what I can do to help??? I have sent in many requests to remove bad marks that need to be corrected and the only thing I get back is stupid "this will be removed (ie go to positive status) in January 2010.  WTH!!! excuse my bad language.

I do the same to monitor my scores. I pull new reports for both CRAs twice monthly. Be sure to google "myFICO discount codes" first.

CC utilization plays a big part in your score. You should start seeing gains when you pay below 30%, then 20%, with the bumps in score occuring when you pay 1/2 to $0 with the other half below 9%.

Be sure to DV Midland first, then offer a PFD. It doesn't matter if you owe $0 to $10,000, the damage is the same. Actually, your score can drop if you pay a CA without a PFD. If you have any CAs on your report, you'd want them off. Old OCs, even if bad at one point, could still be helping you, though.

How do you monitor your score? MyFICO Quarterly Monitoring?

Congrats on the debt paydown. What did you pay? CCs? Collections? Loans?

Some OCs or CAs will help and others won't. Persistence is key. What have you been trying to do?

BTW, Welcome to the forums!

I'd suggest reading the following:

Re: New to board Transunion FICO No Change in 6 months

Ahh, okay first my credit card gave me FICO scores and then it stopped.  So I came to My FICO and basically I monitor it by paying for it every 2 weeks.  I know it sucks, but I am desperate to see this stuff removed and to get this FICO up to at least 620.

I have paid off my revolving accounts with about 2.5k remaining maybe 3k, but not over 3k.

I have one collection account there from Midland credit. I will negotiate to pay this off.

I have a student loan that has past due of 2 YEARS!!! it is so hard to explain that, but I have a lawyer who is sending out a demand letter.  They had a judgment out on me, which I paid 2 years ago and now they say I owe another loan. It is insane.  Anyway, that is all of my credit besides student loans that are in repayment and paid on time.  I have some stuff from 7-10 years past, but they are all in good standing so I hesitate to mention them to be removed.  They have all be paid off.

I don't understand this FICO game at all.

Thanks for the welcome, I will look up the abbreviations, but I gotta check out for dinner with the family

You pull twice each month? Better to use the few bucks and pay off the cards instead. Why not just get a sub to Score Watch and pull TU every third month once. Some FICO scores are like watching a pot of water and waiting for it to boil. I know I am there.

Re: New to board Transunion FICO No Change in 6 months

Sorry it took so long for me to reply.  I had a family emergency.  I am so willing to pay whatever to get these removed. I have the money to pay them.  I just want to pay them in the best way to get my score to go up the fastest and in the best way possible. I was told to pay $500 monthly instead of paying of my credit card entirely.  I have $3k about left to pay on a credit card that was originally 8k limit. My problem is on my last card, they said they were closing it as soon as I paid it off, urrrghhhhhhhh.  So I hold like a $25 balance to keep it from closing entirely.  I am afraid that is what is going to happen with this card too.

On the midland thing. I need to take the advice of the previous guy.  I am used to people giving me crap... meaning I pay them and they still keep my credit bad. I needed advice on how to have this stuff removed.  I agree I neglected to pay them in the past.... I lost my job blah blah and times were tough.  I am not trying to get caught up again.

Also, on me paying.  Actually, I am paying this now for the next couple of months because I am trying to buy a house.  My credit is hurting my husband and I am just trying to get it up to get the loan. I have been working on correcting my credit for about 2 years now, this is the first time I have taken such drastic measures to review my credit, but it seems necessary to stay on top of things.  It seems that things are happening fast. I already had to get a lawyer concerning one of my bills because they are making inquiries to my credit and I don't owe them anything.

I thank you for you help in the is matter and everything you have suggest is much appreciated!!!!

Re: New to board Transunion FICO No Change in 6 months

I am definitely going to take your advice. I am so glad you told me that.  My sister had a similar problem with debt about 12 years ago.  She ended up paying all of her debt off at once.  She didn't get any DV or PFD, her credit was in a mess for years after that.  She will never allow herself to get back into debt like that again, but she also learned that paying them off without paperwork and ensurances was huge mistake.  Problem is I repeated that in the last 2 years because I was not following my credit report, I was just going along with the past due bills I received and paying them up.  My credit was in the toliet with no way out for 7 YEARS!!! even though I paid.  I don't want to make that mistake, so thank you very much for your advice, very helpful indeed.
