No U.S credit history but I have a score?

Hello and welcome to myFICO. I have split your post off to start a new thread in Understanding FICO Scoring. All I changed was the title.

~MarineVietVet, myFICO moderator

I have never had a credit card/account in the US (moved to the country 2 yrs ago) and I thought I had no credit story at all, so, I decided to start one. Today, I applied for a secured credit card and the banker set me up with a regular credit card with a limit of $2000; also, he said my credit score was 720. How can that be?

Get your credit reports free at annualcreditreport.com.  You might be surprised.

I have reestablished credit over the last couple years
so my moniker is, well, rather out of date.
