Oh NO!!!!

All my scores dropped for no apparent reason - I received an alert from myfico that my EQ score had dropped 2 points then I checked my CreditCheckTotal site and it showa my EX score over a 100 points lower and NOTHING HAS changed on my report other than me reporting one of my Credit cards lost. I didn't have any fraud I just left the card somewhere and ordered a new one!!

Anyone have any ideas? I'm just starting to try and Refinance my home

Re: Oh NO!!!!

Well, the EX score for sure is a FAKO, so no telling what caused that.

Are the other scores FAKO's also (from Credit Check Total), or are they FICO's?

One possibility is that the replacement card lowered your average age of accounts. A couple of points is nothing to worry about; 100 is nuts, but then, it's a FAKO, so who knows.

Make sure that the replacement card shows the opening date of the original card. It shouldn't show as April 2009.

Re: Oh NO!!!!

Thanks for the quick response. These are both right from the MyFico site. The alert from MyFico showed my Cap One CC acount as the reason for the drop but it just said "lost or stolen card" in the status field. My report does not show a new acount but it's weird becuse it shows my balance on the account as  '0' and my avail credit as '0'

Maybe I should wait and see what gets reported next month? I what to start my refi ASAP

Re: Oh NO!!!!

Well, I suppose if you carry balances, and at least temporarily you've lost the CL from the missing card, that would have raised your util, yada yada. Hard to tell, and you're right; you may have to wait until everything catches up and is posted properly.

And beware of SW alert reasons. I can't figure if the reasons are picked completely at random, or if someone with an odd sense of humor picks the lease likely reason. All I know is that the reasons on my alerts rarely have anything to do with what really caused the change.

Re: Oh NO!!!!

The CCC usually issues a new card with a new # and close the old account. I think that may be the reason for the drop if the replacement card has not reported then your util would have probably gone up and should return to normal once the replacement card with a new account # reports correctly.
