Old collections keep generating new dates!

How can an old account continue regenerating a new update on an old account?  I have a couple of accounts from eight to ten years ago, yet they keep changing the Date assigned and Date Reported as a more current date.  How is this possible? These accounts are older than eight years, yet they report as two or three year old.

Please help me understand this, what I can regenerating collection dates.

Toby.

Re: Old collections keep generating new dates!

A creditor can continue to report monthly, even if the account is closed.  Most will only report monthly for a couple of months after account closing, unless it is a more significant status change, such as a CO, CA, or balance change.

What they cannot do is add further monthly delinquencies, or improperly reset the DOFD.  But new DOLAs can be reported.

As long as they dont reset your DOFD, it is probably proper.
