I was going to hold off posting here until I hit 800 across the board, but I've been stuck at home with not much to do lol.

I think I should cross the 800 threshold in January if not sooner. August will be tell tale for me.

Congrats!

Thanks very much!

All this time here and I'm only noticing this board now lol. I'm currently at EX8 772, EQ8 769, & TU8 769. I actually crossed the 760 mark in May when my credit age hit 2 years. In August, my youngest account will age 1 year, so I expect another small bump. I look forward to when I hit 800!

@KLEXH25  You may see around 10-15 points when AoYRA reaches 12 months. Additionally, more points when HP inquiries reaches 365 days old. You are close.

Bought a house last year, had two mortgages for a bit, and opened a new card so the score was down for a bit, but I think it's back up to stay. Smiley Happy

The combination of paying down debt and adding a mortgage has 2 scores over 760 and the 3rd flirting with it.

I still have a dirty file that will be clean in the next year. I absolutely have a path to 800's!

UPDATE: Just got my 3B report and it turns out my EQ & TU are even higher. Looking forward to seeing what happens on August 1st and August 20th.

Congrats on your *850* @TLinFargo !

That's a great feeling!  I still remember how amazed I felt when I saw my first one because I always thought 850 was an exceptionally rare unicorn!   While it is difficult to achieve, it's probably not as difficult or rare as I once thought.  Most of us can get there with enough discipline, responsibility, and time.  I say this not to undermine the achievement of anyone, but to point out to our aspiring members that it is a reasonable goal if they choose to pursue it!

Also, I'll add a few words about the idea of 'making it stay' at 850.  Once I got to 850,  of course I wanted to keep it up there but I learned that was an unrealistic goal.  For one, small variations in our credit scoring factors from month-to-month mean that few people are going to go to 850 and stay all the way up there for years.  Also, in real life, there is no benefit to being at 850 versus 805.  They are both exceptional scores and both should get you the best credit terms.   I also see no point in earning a high credit score if I don't reap the rewards by applying for credit that helps me financially.  Isn't that the point of a high score; to reward you financially and give you more options?  So if you do take advantage of your score (as I have done while adding to my card lineup), it will affect those credit factors slightly.  IMO, a more realistic goal is simply keeping all my scores in the 820 to 850 range.  That is close to perfect to me, while also allowing me to actually benefit from the privilege of high scores. Win-Win!  Smiley Happy
