Paid bal to $0 on quicksilver and score went down

Ok I was proud to pay down my quicksilver &  Discover  cards down to zero. My EQ score dropped 6pts!   **bleep**?    I assumed it would raise my score?   What is the problem?   This FICO system seems to work against you....smh

Ideally, you want to report 1-9% aggregate utilization to avoid the all zero score penalty. Seek AZEO All Zero Except One card reporting a small balance e.g. $5-$10

Yep.  Contrary to conventional wisdom, all revolvers reporting zero is not good for FICO scores. But if it's good for your wallet and you're in no need of a score boost due to an upcoming app, then this is easily changed by letting a small balance on 1 card report next cycle. The good and bad of CC UTL is that it has no memory.  So if you report all zero's, the "system" doesn't know that you're using your CC's and can't evaluate how responsible you are with paying your balances.

As @AllZero notes, check out AZEO.  You can report a balance, pay it off before the due date and no interest charged.  There are numerous threads here that discuss the all zero penalty and how to avoid it.
