Paid vs Paid Collection

I have been slowly repairing my credit. My understanding has been that having Paid-Collection is a negative, not a positive (well, better then unpaid collection, but still).

Two items I recently paid, one from IC Systems and one from Asset Acceptance are simply listed as Paid. Is this a positive since the tradeline is just listed as Paid as opposed to Paid Collection, or is it considered Paid Collection because it is a Collection Agency? This is how they are listed:

ASSET ACCEPTANCE LLC
- Account No.:
- Original Creditor: SPRINT PCS
- Responsibility: Individual
- Condition: Paid
- Original Balance: $798
- Balance:
- Date Opened: 02/2005
- Date Reported: 01/05/2008

I C SYSTEM INC
- Account No.:
- Original Creditor: **** D D S
- Responsibility: Individual
- Condition: Paid
- Original Balance: $643
- Balance:
- Date Opened: 07/2006
- Date Reported: 01/05/2008

Re: Paid vs Paid Collection

Sadly, it's considered a paid collection.

You may want to consider a goodwill letter to have it removed(type goodwill leter or gw in the search box).

Even though they are not required to delete the info(which is what you want), they may accommodate your request.

Good luck to you.

P.S. congrats(sort of) on the Giant's win. I'm in Cowboy country.(next year!)
