Plus Scores from 3 Bureaus

Recently, using guidance from this board, I was able to get the two bureas (TU and Experia) that reported a collection to delete it.  I also subscribe to CreditSecure thru American Express which allows me to get a combined report that lists each bureau and the three Plus Scores.

I should also mention that, during the same time frame, Experian stopped reporting that foreclosure was started in 2002 (it was never completed) and all three indicated late payments.  Now that mortgage account shows paid as agreed and no lates for all three, and is also closed as we moved.

My equifax score has been 724 for a while and they never listed the collection.

TU went from 670 to 689 when the item was deleted.

Experian went from 685 to 737 when the item was deleted.

I have looked at the report form Credit Secure and all 3 bureaus have the same itesm and the same late payments etc.  Experian and Equifax are not that much different but can anyone explain or offer information as to why TU is so much lower then the other two??

Re: Plus Scores from 3 Bureaus

Hi, welcome to the forums!

PLUS scores are an example of what we call FAKO scores. These are credit scores that are derived from formulas invented by the credit bureaus and other entrepreneurs. They look like FICO scores, which are what most lenders use, but they're not, and they're generally not used by lenders at all. Basically, they're a very nice way to make money off of confused consumers.

If you haven't already, please read Understanding Your FICO ® Score and Credit Scoring 101 (at least the first post.)

These will give you the background knowledge you need to understand what you read here on the forums.
* Credit is a wonderful servant, but a terrible master. * Who's the boss --you or your credit?
FICO's: EQ 781 - TU 793 - EX 779 (from PSECU) - Done credit hunting; having fun with credit gardening. - EQ 590 on 5/14/2007
