Same bureau different FICO score ?

I' ve been trying to build credit because I want to buy a house soon I have an ex 595 eq620 and a tr 714. I applied for a Discover card but they were  unable to approve me because of lack of credit history. However, Discover card  said my fico score is 579  on my Equifax which was on oct 28 but every time I pull it on my fico.com it is 620 and has been for a while also my scores went up today to 628.  Pls Help me and tell me why my scores are different.

( I know credit scores and fico are different and Discover said they use my FICO )

PLS Help

Re: Same bureau different FICO score ?

Hi and welcome to the forums.

There are 49 different versions/models of the FICO score.  One of them is a bankcard enhanced score that weighs prior (or lack thereof) CC accounts more heavily.  That is probably what Discover used.

Both of the scores are correct for what they are used for.

I hope that make sense.
