I applied for a Bank of America Secured Card, that was a bad idea. My credit score was Exp was 635 and when I applied it dropped down to 607 that was a big 28 point drop and I was denied the card. I only have 3 things on my credit report my car note and 2 student loans. I only applied for it to help boost my score up because I am trying to buy a home and this has set me back so far. = ( And all of my bills are paid on time every month. I am in shock what is going on? Tu is 683 Eqx 670
OP, I split your post to form a new one here. I had to edit the title, but changed nothing else. If you'd like to change the title, click "Options" and then "Edit Message".
You were most likely hit for a new inquiry based on your application, but that should not have resulted in anything near a 28-point drop based on a single inquiry.
I suspect that something else occured in the interim that contributed to the score drop. However, since you have no revolfing credit, it was not the most common change, which is an increase in % util.
Puzzles me......
