Score help

I'm looking for a lil help. I went to look into buying a home Sep. The lender told me my middle score was only 613. She said I needed to pay my credit cards down. So I just did that they are down to 17%. The problem is I purchased my daily credit score watch with equifax. When I started with them 2 weeks ago my score was 605 lower then what the lender said and then it jumped to 617 but as so as my new credit card ratio hit it went to 600! How can this be? Is equifax normal accurate she I think my score is that low? I was planning on going back to the lender again next week but not with a score like that. Please give me some advice. Thanks... Angela

Re: Score help

Exactly where did you purchase this other EQ score? Equifax.com?  MyFICO?

The EQ score from here, myFICO.com, will very likely match the one your lender will pull. If you pulled from Equifax.com, it's possible the score you purchased isn't a FICO score and would not be used by your or any lender.

Re: Score help

Have you used your credit cards since you made the payments?  Remember, it's the amount on each statement that is going to be sent to the bureaus.  So if you pay in full, then use it again, the new use could have gotten reported.

Go to the history of your cards' statements and see when the dates are.  Be sure to have your payment sent in at least 3 days or so before the statement.  Then, don't use the card again until AFTER the statements.  Better yet, don't use them at all so you don't have to play the statement game (If you can).

Good Luck w/ your house adventure.  It will be a stressful ride.  One issue after the other will show up.  But as my LO said, "This is just one more Edited we have to get through Edited

It will be WELL WORTH IT once you have those keys, so hang in there and come here for any help or support you need.

Re: Score help

Thanks you so much. I pulled it from equifax.com theres something wrong with that sight bcuz this morning my score went back to 617 I think my score is much higher then what it say. I'm just going to wait until Thursday and let the lender pull my score again. Can a lender do a soft pull so I don't lose points? I pay my cards off and don't use them again until after they report I know they both report on the 23. So I'm not going to use them unless I have to then pay back off before the 18th. I learned the VC game.

Hi there.

Buying a "score" from Equifax can be very confusing. Besides an Equifax FICO score they also sell their own proprietary "Equifax Credit Score" which is not an EQ FICO score.

Equifax will still sell you a FICO score found here: www.equifax.com/web-myfico-products/

If you don't see the word "FICO" from any site that sells "credit scores" you know it is not the real deal.

From a BK years ago to:
EX - 3/11 pulled by lender- 835, EQ - 2/11-816, TU - 2/11-782
