Score went up with inquiry?

Apped and approved for a card a couple days ago, noticed both bureaus it pulled went up less than 24 hours later via alerts.    Other bureau went up today almost 20 points.   Is it the CLI from the new account?   Notifications say inquiry but have the increase next to them.  A little confused here.

Re: Score went up with inquiry?

Alerts only tell you about changes. They also pull a fresh score based on your profile that day.

Something else changed since your last score update and those changes boosted your score, no the reason for the alert.

ABCD is right on with his above reply.  Something else caused your score to increase.  An inquiry cannot raise a score.  If you just received the inquiry, the account has not yet reported so anything related to that account such as the credit limit (raising your overall total limits, possibly lowering your utilization) has not yet been a factor on your profile.

Re: Score went up with inquiry?

I figured as much, but it must be something else.   I doubt it's the new card because it'll have alerts when it reports as open and my CL increase will be an alert as well, plus my scores will probably go up more than 10 pts.   Probably reported payments.  Thanks guys.
