Scoring Bucket Change...

Is there a scoring bucket change when your oldest account passes ten years? If that plus you have reporting, but not recent lates reporting? Just curious - I have an unexpected and seemingly persistent small score drop (10ish points) and that might account for it.

Re: Scoring Bucket Change...

No one can answer that great question.

FICO has about 12 different algorthms that they use for credit scoring, and no one knows the trade-secret rules that govern which algorithm will be used for your scoring.

The major divisions seem to be "clean" and "dirty" files (dirty being a 60+ late), and then :"thin" vs "thick files, with the division based on at least three open accounts.

Each then has different algorithms based on %util, AAoA,  payment history, etc. that no one knows.

There are buckets within buckets.
What affects someoe with a dirty credikt file will not have the same affect on someone with a clean file.

Buy no one other than Mr. Fair Isaac can tell you for sure.   That is why we pontificate!
