Stuck at 798

I am getting ready to app and my experian is at 798. I am/have been waiting for penfed to report (statement closed on the 26th and they already reported to TU and EQ)and I will then be below 8.9 utilization overall. Since I am apping for several cards(two on experian and maybe a CLI), is it worth it to wait for the score bump? In terms of credit limit how much would getting above 800 be worth? Thank you!

To the best of my knowledge, there is no difference in approval odds for a 798 vs 800+ score, nor is there a difference in credit limit since most lenders have their top credit tier at 760+

Credit limits are not normally determined solely based on scores so it is impossible to predict/guess at a SL when you only provide scores.

Like @dragontears said, there is no evidence that an 800+ will get you anything a 798 won't.

I've said this elsewhere, and I will fully admit I'm quoting an old friend of mine in the credit repair biz - "A score won't get you approved.  It'll only get you denied" - in other words, what the *REST* of your profile looks like will get you approved.  A score is often no more than a threshold.  Below this, auto-denial.  Above this, their internal algorithms decide whether you should be approved based on their other criteria.  Some will even deny you if your score is *TOO* high, ie too exceptional  Cap1 anecdotally does this for some of their cards (no hard evidence, mind you).

Based on SCORE ALONE, I'd say APP AWAY.  If you're denied, it WON'T be because of your score.
