I'm wondering if someone could help me predict how my Equifax/TU scores might change in the future as I have a unique problem. I had a late student loan payment in Feb 2019 and a CC Charge-Off in March 2018. The SL was a single payment to my servicer, but since it was 16 individual loans, they are report as 16 different late payments from 2/2019. I'm on the SAVE plan now and I guess with the automatic forebearance, my servicer has messed up how they are report:
1. All of the SL accounts have been removed completely from Experian and my CC Charge-Off was just removed yesterday right at the 7-year mark and my score just jumped to 767!
2. Equifax: everything is reported correctly and my score is 690.
3. TU: Student loans were all duplicated and incorrectly reported the 90-day lates in 02/2019 and 02/2025. So my score tanked down to low 600. I disputed it and they changed it back to 2/2019, score went up to 703 today. However, they are still duplicated as they went from 16 to 32 (just all showing late from 2019).
Perhaps my SL's will show back up on Experian, which will drop by score, but I'm trying to see how things might change in the next 2-3 months when my 2018 CC Charge-off is removed from Equifax and TU. Will this have any measurable impact since I will still have the 90-day late SL's from 2019?
Finally, is it worth disputing again with TU to get the 16 duplicated loans removed? I guess for any type of Underwriting it doesn't look great, but since they are all from the same month and year (about 6 years ago), will this change anything with my score?
Thanks!
Typically student loans are not dischargeable.
Were these federal loans or private loans?
Once the 7 yrs hit and the CO falls off in March. That will help alot. CO ranks under a BK. The lates lose thri steam as they age. I'd resubmit a dispute for the duplicate listings. Once closer to 5 yrs since the 90. It gets better.
They are Federal Loans. I'm not filing for bankruptcy or looking to get them discharged. The 90-day late payments from 2/2019 are accurate. Everything was correct from 2019 to 2024, but a few months ago, they were just duplicated for some reason.
I assume BK stands for "Bankruptcy"? Sorry, if I gave that impression, I have never filed for Bankruptcy. The loans being removed from Experian also just seems to be an accident. Perhaps Experian removed them because they are getting incorrect data from my loan servicing company?
I will go ahead a dispute the duplicate loans from TU. Like I said everything was fine from 2019-2024 and they just magically got duplicated. I'm hoping if they are removed, it will make an impact on my score and I hope when the Credit Card CO drops off in a month or 2, that will have a big impact.
I'm really just trying to understand/predict how the scoring models work. Thanks!
