Re: The "New" FICO Scoring Model? -- Total Bull**bleep**!

I laugh everytime there is a post about credit scores.   I just applied for a small auto loan that was floated to a handful of lenders and every single lender had a different score, and there was a 30ish point differential between the high and low.  What people have to realize is that when you retrieve a credit score, it is not concrete because their are numerous different scores and a person's score is fluid.  The reported number can get you in the ball park for planning, and realistically, I only worry about my score when I know it is necessary.  If a person does the right things, the score will go up.

I guess the concept of multiple FICO scores really confuses some people....

It seems wise to get away from a focus on scores, and instead put the focus on a clean report.

Many of the scores used by lenders aren't available to consumers, and so it's possible that both the standard 04 and 08 scoring models come up with a different number than a lender is using.

The auto / bankcard enhanced scores are an example of this, as are the proprietary scoring systems used by some lenders.

Agreed partially. My strategy is: clean report, and then micromanagement for the final points.
