The waiting is the hardest part...

Hello All,

I'm still relatively new to the who fico score watching, and I pulled my scores from here last month.. 748 with the only concerns being a revolving credit account (bank card overdraft account) which had a balance and a student loan.  Those two items were hitting me for high utilization.  In the past two weeks I've paid both of them off and I'm curious how long will it take for the pay off to be realized in my score?  I'd rather not pull my scores again just to see that it hasn't updated yet.

I have score watch on but it seems to be more a watch to see if things get worse rather than better..  I'm waiting for the weekly notice to come to say either it has nothing to report or otherwise.  Do I need to wait until the beginning of April or anything like that?

Thanks!

The first thing to know is when your creditor reports to the CRAs.  It is usually right after their last billing statement date, but it can vary.

Give it a few days for the CRA to enter the reporting to your credit file.  Once it is in your credit file, FICO update is instaneous, for each FICO scoring goes to your current credit file.

Good estimate: within a week of your creditor reporting to the CRA.
