So, my up-to-date TU score is 728, however, when I went to the Hyundai dealer they refused me a lease because the TU score they pulled is a 581. How in the world can that happen? They are pulling a totally different score from the same company? They showed me the report and it is IDENTICAL to the report I pull online except for the SCORE!
I called TU and asked if the score I see online is the "actual" score and he said yes. I asked how a lender can be told a score 140 points different and he said they may factor different aspects of my report more heavily.
The busines manager at the dealer says the entire credit score fiasco is complete BS and wishes it didn't work the way it does. The suits at Hyundai make the decisions and he said it was obvious I would have no issue with the lease, which I wouldn't.
It's amazing how algorithms can completely screw you over.

I'm sorry to hear this happened to you. Your TU score of 728, is it a FICO score? Where did you get this score from? Here are a couple of threads to get started with, hopefully we might be able to find out what is going on with your TU score.
