Unexpected 19-pt EX increase

I was expecting a small increase next month or the month after for the 2-yr anniversary of my spree that resulted in about 8 new cards and inqs. This was a big surprise. Score's at 776 now! Still anxious to see what happens over the  next month or two when the inqs drop off and the accts become 2 yrs old.

Factors that EX attributed to the increase:

  • 1 year 1 month since your last inquiry.
  • average age of your accounts is now 2 years 11 months.
  • oldest account is now 9 years 11 months old
  • newest account is now 1 year old

When your newest account hit 1 year, that caused your nice FICO 8 increse.

Don't hold your breath on anything similar happening next month.

You got that nice bump from having no more new revolver 'penalty' as your newest revolving account hit 12 months old. Hard inquiries stop affecting your scores at 12 months even though they stay on your reports for 24 months. Having hard inquiries fall off at 24 months won't have any score effect. It's possible you could see a score increase when your AAoA hits 36 months. I believe there's a threshold for that. Not sure about oldest account hitting the 10 year mark, but possible score increase there as well.
