Hi all! I have recently begun credit monitoring and repair after finding a charge off my husband never paid off from Home Depot. CitiFinancial refused to remove it, but I did settle with them and they "said" they are going to report it to the best benefit as it can to my credit report. I am SO IRATE over this! These were countertops we had installed to sell our last house - SEVEN years ago and my husband was supposed to pay off the bill with the proceeds of the house, but didn't, so here I am, and it hit my credit even though I am only an authorized user. Do you think I would be wasting my time to keep hitting Citi with letters reqyesting removal even though I've settled?
Also, Experian is my highest score at 553 (yikes) - TU of 549 and EQ at 538 - scores pulled on 6/21/11. But when I logged in my credit monitoring site today, it showed a 669 on Experian Score Tracker on June 1st??? Color me confused...not sure the huge difference? Can your credit score fluctuate that much in a month? 2 years ago, we had a 60 day late hit our CR the same week my husband totaled his paid-for car. So, we are sitting here with a car loan at 15% right now. We had planned on trading in said car (which is how I found out my credit score was so low) because we have 3 kids and its a 5 seat car (and kids are shoulder to shoulder in the car!). We would like to get a better rate on a bigger, new-to-us affordable car. So when I saw this score tracker I showing 669, I was thinking maybe I should head to our credit union and see if we could get better loan terms now. We could also hold off for another good 6 months of on-time bill paying and deal with the kids whining - LOL! With 6 months of on-time CC payments, how much conceiveably could my CS come up?
Thanks for your help! I am new to all this, and have never had trouble buying anything on credit until my husband let things go 2 years ago. We are in a good place now, and brining in 2 great salaries, so it's quite embarrasing making right under 200K and not being able to buy a car due to his laziness on making payments and poor money management :-(
Hopefully I've answered some of your concerns in your other post: http://ficoforums.myfico.com/t5/Understanding-FICO-Scoring/Scores-all-over-the-place/m-p/950626
