Util Rate

I just want to start by thanking everyone here for posting up so much information for newbies to read and learn from.  However, with all the answers, more questions must be posed. Soo...

I was wondering which effects your score more: Total Util of all CCs or the individual Util for each CC?

I have a balance of 550 on a card with a 1k limit (higher interest) and a 2300 balance on a 3k limit.

I was going to do a BT to eliminate the balance on the higher interest card, which wouldnt effect my toal Util but it will put me close to 100% util on one card and at 0% on the other.

Any advise is greatly appreciated!

Single card util is worse than overall.. try and spread out balances as much as possible

Re: Util Rate

For azample, my EX is 40 points lower than the others mainly because it think one of my cards is at high util - it thinks my HELOC is a CC
The slide from grace is really more like gliding
And I've found the trick is not to stop the sliding
But to find a graceful way of staying slid

Re: Util Rate

Your fico score has no memory, once the balances are paid down/off your score will go up. So you have to ask yourself what is more important to you right now: saving $$ or having a higher fico score. If you are not going to be applying for new credit between now and when you would have your almost maxed out card down to a reasonable utilization then the BT may make sense for you.
