Utilization question about an AU card

I plan on telling my dad not to use his barclay card a couple of days prior to the statement on the 23rd.  This month, however, the 23rd is a Monday.  So, does that mean I should tell him to not use it the prior thursday and friday? Saturday and sunday wouldn't matter maybe? Not sure, I just would rather not say "dont use it at all thursday-sunday" or whatever because I dont want to try to seem like I'm controlling his stuff or whatever.  My mom is also an au of the same card so I will tell her the same.

If it were me I would not use it Thu-Sun. Barclays doesnt appear to post charges on the weekend but a payment can be initiated on statement day to bring balance to 0 if that is what one is after.
