So i've heard 9% is the best percentage for utilization but i was wondering if anyone knew if it matters should i have 9% of my total credit which is 1850 split between 3 cards 750,700,400, or should i have 9% of one card and 0 on the other ..
I've read that if you have 3 cards, 2 should report a balance of $0 and one between 6-8% for the greatest point advantage. I read recently where a person tested this and lost points when that one card dropped below 6%.
This whole 4% to 10% to maximize your scores only matters if you're going after credit and need a boost in your scores. For everyday util keep it at 0 if you can. Why pay interest and have the hassle if you don't need to.
The best starting point for optimizing your FICO revolving utilization is a small balance ( like <9% ) reporting on only a single card, with all other cards reporting a zero balance. You'll have to experiment with the amount you allow to report. Also in some cases people get better results from having two cards reporting balances, if they have more than two or three cards. YMMV.
The difference in my utilization from 9% to 79% is 3-4 points.... Just saying.
i just paid my bill before its cut off time every months and keep a small balance like 1 2 3 dollars on each cards ? i guess its good for their to report some activity in your account and pluss they wont close your account and i also can taking advance of Credit Alert on Score watch and see my score daily as 3 times a month.....i' m just saying

^ What do you mean you can see your score daily? Is it because of the staggering of the creditor reporting the statement bal throughout the month?
not daily but as soon as the credit card statement report to credit bureau .....i would se it because i let its over like $1 from my last statement so of course they give me an alert and here you go i can see my score again during the months period...
