Wells Fargo GW and score jump - is it permanent?

I was unexpectedly hospitalized in November 2008, and was subsequently out of work for 6 weeks. I entrusted my sister to make my mortgage payments for me and instead she spent it. Great sister, huh?

Anyway, I got dinged with a 60 &  30 day late on my CR. So on blind faith(bc it seems no one has luck apparently with WF) I faxed a GW letter on Monday. Today, my score jumped back up +86pts.When I looked at the ScoreWatch explanation, it says customer disputes. Does this mean they are just humoring me until they decide to just tell me what they seem to tell most customers, which is no or can I assume they are going to be nice and update me???

After they pull you off of your sister, take a deep breath. What happened is WF misconstrued your GW as a dispute. When TLs are disputed, they are taken out of the scoring equation during the dispute. If it comes back as "verified" then you will again lose the 86 points. If they decide to forgive you of the indiscretion, then you will keep the points.

Aarrghhh!! This is so frustrating! Especially since this mortgage took me forever to get! I had to clean up debts that another sibling created -  she went nuts on my credit after I moved out of state.

Thank you for your reply, I guess I should contact them directly to make them understand it's a GW not a dispute. Woman Sad

btw, I am a 30 y.o. woman who hasn't fist fought since she was at least 15 - but when I tell you I busted her bum pretty good.... I was pretty proud of myself. Turns out I'm not so rusty afterall. Smiley Wink

Sounds like that thumpin' was a long time coming. Your sisters seem to think that you are their personal bank or something.

Anyway, GL.
