Does FICO and other credit bureaus require payment to be 30 days past due in order to appear as a negative mark on a credit report?
I have seen a "-" (neutral?) on credit reports where the debt payment is late less than 30 days.
How does this work? TIA!
Hi and welcome to the forums, @Credit_Forum_NYC
Yes, a payment needs to be pass due by 30 days before a bank reports the payment as a 30 day derogatory late on your reports in accordance to laws. Presuming when it has been less than 30 days but still in that time frame it's left as "unknown" til the deadline passes or the customer makes the payment before the 30 days has passed. You'll have to pay any late fees if they cannot be waived but no negative marks will be on your report
