Nice! Thanks everyone for the feedback! I will try the PDF letters this week - fingers crossed that it will work!
If lenders look for inquiries for the past 120 days or so then maybe opening a new credit card will initially lower my score but within 4 months it will raise my score probably to higher than it was prior to opening the new card, right? So maybe it makes sense for me to open another one to get my credit back up? ORRRR should I try to look for installments instead of another CC? Maybe get a personal loan? I thought of refinancing the remaining of my car but... 1)I´m currently out of the country. 2) I would only have to refinance maybe $330, since it would only be my last payment. Not worth it.
I would suggest using the Cap One pre-qualifying tool to see if you're likely to get approved for one of their CCs, first.
Good Luck!
Just a quick reminder... you are looking at your FICO 04/98 scores, right? FICO 08 is much more common in credit card applications. But most mortgages don't use them. There can be big differences between the different FICO models. I wouldn't want you to be in for a big surprise when you eventually think you are ready to apply for a mortgage.
