Will changing my name impact my score

I got married in Dec and have decided to take my husband's name. Will changing my name and getting a new social security number impact my score? Silly question, but better safe than sorry.

Changing your name, or any other demographic like addresses, phone numbers, work history, etc., will never have an impact. Your social security number will remain the same after legally changing your name.

Correct, and original poster will need to send documentation of the name change to the Social Security Administration. My wife and I forgot to do this so the IRS bounced back our first joint tax return with a form letter "Mrs. H. needs to get Social Security Administration records changed and then resubmit this tax return." My wife's SS number did not change, only her name.

Also, you will need to inform your creditors of the name change.
