I recently opened my 1st CC to help rebuild my credit. Generally speaking will opening 2 more cards raise my score? I plan on keeping the UTL<9%.
Congrats on your first revolving TL!
Revolving credit is a large part of FICO scoring, as it places heavy emphasis on showing effective use of discretionary credit.
No one knows for sure how many revolving TLs FICO sees as ideal, or how the addition of revolving TLs further assists your score. I would strive for at least 2-3, with at least one major bank card.
Opening additional cards will most likely have a short-term negative effect due to the new inquiries associated with that process, and the reduction of avg age of accounts with each addition of a new TL. However, I consider multiple revolving to be important, and would strive for one or two more, but only when you have reasonable expectation of approval of a decent card.
If you don't think you will be approved then get a secured card from your bank or credit union. I've read that major bank cards get more points than score cards. FICO doesn't care if it's a secured card.

+1
On my TU report, the only thing "Hurting My Score" it shows me on page two is, "Too Many Accounts, 14"
2 closed and 12 open 799 FICO <--FICO is reaching![]()
@Anonymous EQ Report on page two, it shows nothing "Hurting My Score" since my EQ FICO is exceptionally high @ 802
14 accounts as well IIRC.
