Wow, maybe Fico '08 IS in effect...

So my Experian score has been hovering in the 650 range. I've been waiting with baited breath for my parents Amex AU to hit. Perfect payments since 1976, that should have shot me up by adding to my total and average age right?

Just added today, not one point.  AND on Experian it says a negative is my 'short' credit history.

Now to be fair, I also had a two new CCs added over the last month or so, and each time neither of THOSE affected my score.

Does it take time for the score to adjust itself, i.e. once a new account is listed it takes time to 'process' it? I can't see how a new card with a new line and an old AU addition can have zero affect on my score?

You say your "Experian score."  Where did you get these scores?  Are they FICOs?

What was your average age before and after?

Those are MYFico scores.

I think my average (on Experian) was 6 years or so, but only becauwse of an old Baly account from 91.

Still, adding a 32 year old perfect Amex should have increased both lenght and average by a lot not too mention excellent long standing credit.

I'm imagining Amex will hiit TU and Efx soon, these hopefully will see a bump as I have less to zero baddies on those and also DON'T have the 18 yo Bally Account

Still, I think something is up that I didn't move a single point either way.

You have added one 32 year and two zero years - so the change in average depends on your total number of accounts
The slide from grace is really more like gliding
And I've found the trick is not to stop the sliding
But to find a graceful way of staying slid

Whatever it is that's up, is not FICO 08. It's been stated on here by Admin's that you won't see FICO 08 scores on MyFICO until over 50% of lenders start to use the 08 scoring model. And since it's pretty much known that it's not being used by anyone yet, I highly doubt that it came out, and 50% of lenders started using it without anyone knowing.
