Curious if anyone else has had the same card come up twice on their equifax report. I check mine monthly and there is always one card (not always the same) reported twice. For instance: I have one card that I use ever so often for large purchases and when it gets reported that the balance went from $0 to $2000 dollars in one month it will show up as "Misc Bank, account # XXXX XXXX XXXX 1234, balance $2000, credit limit $2001" or something similar. But it will show up on two different lines as the exact samething with the exact same card number and bank name. Then it will do it with other cards at other times. I don't have this problem with TransU.
So I just wanna know:
1. Does anyone have experience with this situation?
2. Is this hurting my score?
I did see my score drop by about 20 points last time this cropped up, but I was not sure if it was because of the large credit purchase or because it was being reported as two large purchases.
Both times this happened I have gone to Equifax web site and disputed one of the accounts, but the resolution is vague at best. I just receive a generic statement saying the card was verified and determined to be in good standing. Which it is. But only one card with that number.
Where is the report being pulled from? Is it from myFICO.com or Equifax.com?
Is it the same bank that is reporting this way?
Ah....or is this coming up from a myFICO ScoreWatch alert?

If you are seeing this in your SW alert - disregard, it is a common glitch and has no effect on your score and your actual report from EQ probably does not show duplicate TLs. I and several others have had this same issue and it's rather annoying but benign just the same.
