closed vs open effect on score

I have several very old accounts that were mortgage accounts and HFC LOC's.  On Equifax (only) they are reporting as still open, but everything is zero of course.  These were all paid off in full and closed prior to my financial downward turn in 2001.(never any lates)  Does it matter to the scoring model if it is open or closed.  (TU and EX both showed everything as closed)

Granny, leave it alone. It will stay on your report for up to 10 years following the close. If it remains open, it can stay on your report perpetually, which is great for your age.
