collection

How long does a collection stay on your report? I've disputed it already, but it's still on there. I've heard it "drops off" after a certain amount of time...anyone know how long that is? Or will it be on there forever?

The slide from grace is really more like gliding
And I've found the trick is not to stop the sliding
But to find a graceful way of staying slid

Re: collection

So, it says "date assigned: June 2003" and "date reported: Sept 2005". It would be 7 years from June 2003?

Neither. You'd want to find DOFD. If it isn't listed, try pulling your report directly from the CRA. If on TU or EX, then you may see an "estimated date for removal". That is the month and year that this will be removed. If you ever wanted to know DOFD, then subtract 7 yrs from that date. Your DOFD would be before 6/2003, possibly months before depending on the debt and the OC.
