Re: credit score

A couple of months.

The answer to this will be extremely profile-specific.

Someone with a ton of dirty accounts that has scores in the 600's may take years to see 700's.

Someone else with just 1 negative item that has it removed can go from 600's to 700's in 1 day.

Re: credit score

Similarly, it could simply be a matter of paying down outstanding balances (on a clean-ish profile), in which case the answer would be as long as that takes.

My scores were in the high mid-600's in early 2017 -- attributable almost entirely to high card balances.

Re: credit score

Right and also dollars don't matter, percentage does.

If the OP has exactly 1 credit card with a $300 limit, if he has a $290 balance he's maxed out with aggregate utilization for FICO scoring purposes.  If he pays off $285 of that and reports a $5 balance, his scores would probably go up 100 points.  This could take someone from the 600's to the 700's just from making a single small (relatively) payment and having it report.
