dying to pull new score

I just pulled experian this am.  615.  But I called them because I had a question about 2 accounts that say June 2008 fall off.

Was told that as of tonight those 2 derog accounts will be gone.  In addition, got a huge derog deleted as well.  Was reporting 26 lates even though it was IIB.

So will my score go up much or not?  Dying to find out but will make myself wait for tomorrow to see.  I will still have 2 derog that are IIB accounts and can't do anything about those and will have my public records.  But I can hope that all this will help my score go up.

Sweaty palms time! Like you said, impossible to predict, but I've got my fingers crossed for you. Good luck!

Hey granny, do you have a CMS? I ask, because it is easier to predict when you should pull FICO by when those things come off of the CRs that you see at the CMS. Cheaper in the long run. Not throwing spaghetti at the wall.

Re: dying to pull new score

I do indeed have tru credit which I pull daily.  I have score watch through myfico and I have experian credit monitoring.  I subscribed to all 3 because I wanted to be able to dispute each online when I received my BK discharge and get my public record to say "discharged" and not just filed as it does now.  However, now that won't happen until Jan 09 according to the trustee staff person but I am keeping them until then.  Since all those scores are fako's just wanted to see if it made a real difference in my real fico score.  I had an account (derog) deleted last month and no score change at all on experian so hoping for better results this time.  Smiley Happy

Re: dying to pull new score

no score change at all.  Smiley Sad  Still have 2 remaining derog accounts listed as IIB and of course my PR.  So I guess I am done pulling my scores until I need my mortgage next spring.  I am amazed that 3 major derog accounts had no effect on my score.

Re: dying to pull new score

Timothy believes that FICO scoring only looks at the worst derog and how recent it is. If that's true, and you have a major that's worse than what was deleted, or one that's more recent, then I guess that's driving your scores.

But it does help to have fewer accounts with derogs. One of my dings is "multiple accounts with lates" --all three of them. Smiley Sad

Sorry about your scores, but I guess you're that much closer! hang in there...

Re: dying to pull new score

thank you for the encouragement.  I am kind of down today anyway because I had a previously deleted account show up again on my Equifax.  I know it will end up being deleted but it is becoming a monthly occurance and it is just stressful sometimes.

I am not needing my scores to be higher until next spring and I do have a "more recent derog" which is the chapter 13 BK I filed in 2005.  From what you are saying when my judgment from 2002 is deleted in early 09 that won't have much effect on my score either.

I can't do anything about the BK's and the 2 remaining accounts that will continue to show until 2012 that were included.  Everything else was from 2001/2002 and is being deleted from my credit reports slowly but surely.

To cheer myself up some (pity party) Smiley Sad I went through my old copies of my credit reports from January.  They were a lot worse than they are now so I should be happy that I have made progress.

And I have added some nice new cards as a result.  And B of A sent me my "preapproved" application for my fully secured card today.

So I am getting my 300.00 ready to send off to them and will just sit tight until next march.  Smiley Happy

Certainly your latest derog does have the greatest impact. And having fewer accounts with derogs--or, to be more precise, a smaller percentage of total accounts with derogs--does help your score. This is one reason I recommend against closing any account in good standing: if you ever do hit a rough patch and get two or three baddies, better to balance those against six or seven accounts in good standing versus one or two.

I have to admit that when I was a rank newbie last fall trying to drink from the fire hydrant of FICO scoring knowledge, the very first thing that I forgot was the tactic of diluting old bad credit with new good credit. I perhaps could have stopped a couple of accounts earlier than I did Smiley Wink , but I must say that I'm amazed with how quickly my scores are recovering, despite driving my average age from 4 years 10 months to 3 years 3 months (on EQ.)

Not only do I have more clean accounts to "out-shout" the not-so-clean ones, I am no longer plagued by the too-many-accounts-with-balances message that I used to get so often with only 3 installment and 5 revolving accounts.

Re: dying to pull new score

That is one of the most important things I learned from TNWM...Dilute the bad with the good! Totally works!
