The housing market is terrible in Michigan. My father is 65 yrs old and owes 60K for his house but it is valued now at only 20K. He is afraid to leave it to move to Texas because it will hurt his credit scores. If it is foreclosed on, how bad will it hurt his credit score? What if the mortgage company is willing to do a short sell? Will that not hurt as much?
